This site is intended as an introduction to my work at my Yorkshire workshop. I have over 30 years experience in designing and building guitars, as well as repairing and restoring instruments..
I do not have a standard catalogue or set range of instruments as I believe in building individual guitars for individual guitarists. One of the joys of having a guitar hand built is the selection of materials, the shapes, the curves, the feel and even the tone can be balanced to fit your needs.
To help you get a feel for my work you can find out about my pricing structure and look at some of my instruments and find out about materials and construction, my working history and contact me for further details on other pages in this site.
Find out how you can keep in touch with your guitar at every stage of it's design and construction.
You can listen to my guitars being played on the samples page.
Guitarists playing samples include Steve Tilston, Gordon Tyrrall, Gary Boyle, Roger Higgins, and Paul Jermyn.
Steve Tilston is playing his prophetic song" Pretty Penny" on a 000 on youtube. You can also see him playing Davyji (a salute to Davy Graham) and Devil May Care
Thank you for visiting.

Just an update as regards feedback on the guitar.
Firstly, as far as sound is concerned, the sustain on this instrument is phenomenal, which is great for slow airs and more ‘atmospheric’ pieces. However, when required it can produce a clear punchy sound for the more percussive stuff. What is amazing is the way it retains its clarity and separation. I’ve owned and played a lot of top end guitars over the years – this is up there with the best of them but there are none that have had the warmth and character of this beauty. All this and less than a week old!!
As for ‘visuals’: beautifully proportioned, well balanced, eye catching but tastefully restrained – in short, a joy to look at!!
Another of the joys of this guitar is the sense of collaboration I had in its creation – everything from sound and body shape to choice of wood and decoration
