I use a variety of tonewoods, selected to suit the player and the instrument. This includes South American and Indian Rosewoods, Birds-eye and figured Maples, Walnut, Mahogany etc. for back and sides, and European and Sitka Spruce, and Cedar for soundboards.

I do my best to ensure that all tonewoods are sustainably grown or are reclaimed timbers. Whatever option is chosen I use the best quality I can find, and balance each element of the construction with the whole design. As with tonewoods, all hardware and fittings are the finest quality.

Your involvement with your guitar needn't end with placing your order. As well as initially discussing your requirements regarding the instruments design from aesthetic, functional and tonal perspectives, you can keep in touch with every stage of construction along the way. Once your guitar is begun you will get your own pass-word protected website where I regularly record, and comment on, your guitar as it develops on the bench. So no matter where you are based, you are always in touch with the workshop and your guitar. All the photographs are available for download from your site and when your guitar is finished you will get a copy of the site on disk and a bound collection of the photographs to keep. As a guide, I have three price bands available. Full details and options are shown in the download price guide or can be sent on application. In outline they are Series A starting at £2,800, Series B starting at £3,200, and Series C starting at £4,200. Across each of these bands I build a variety of instruments ranging from classic designs, through to custom shapes individually developed with my customers. From simple and understated designs to decorative inlays, I build each instrument with my full care and attention.
